Roswell, GA, December 4, 2003 – For a second consecutive year, Commetrex
has been awarded the pulver100 award by pulver.com, Inc. for its innovative product
development. The pulver100 award was established by entrepreneur Jeff Pulver to
recognize up-and-coming privately held companies in the telecom sector.
Companies chosen for this award represent the future of the communications
ecosystem. According to Pulver, "The companies prospering in the new
environment have followed the computer and networking industry model with open
interfaces, connectivity decoupled from services, and software decoupled from
hardware."
"Commetrex is a member of the pulver100 because of the critical role the Company
plays in helping the network-equipment manufacturer develop the equipment
needed to deliver purple minutes", noted Jeff Pulver, Founder of pulver.com.
Purple minutes are defined by Pulver as IP-based enhanced services in the form of
cool killer apps created by telecom companies. This is in contrast to black and white
minutes that represent standard PSTN use. Pulver takes note of companies that are
doing things that were never before practical and/or possible without the use of IP.
Mike Coffee, CEO of Commetrex, adds: "Commetrex’ strategy has always been to
follow the computer and networking industry's model of a tightly coupled business
ecosystem. So we are pleased to see the folks at Pulver include Commetrex in this
impressive group of companies."
Nominations for the pulver100 are reviewed each quarter. For a list of pulver100
