Roswell, GA, July 28, 2003 – Mediatrix Telecom and Commetrex have completed
T.38 interoperability testing of the Mediatrix 1000 Series VoIP access devices and
gateways in Commetrex' T.38 Interoperability Lab. The results of the 16-point test are
posted on Commetrex' T.38 Interoperability Lab Web site (see link on home page,
http://www.commetrex.com). The Mediatrix 1000 Series met the Lab’s interoperability
standards.
Alex Suter, Mediatrix' VP PLM and Operations, explains: " Improving the operation of
T.38 is considered a strategic product priority given the importance of the T.38 fax relay
feature to Mediatrix’ product portfolio. As part of our efforts in this regard, it made
perfect sense to validate our product's T.38 capabilities with an independent lab so we
turned to Commetrex."
Mediatrix develops VoIP access devices, gateways, and software connecting analog
telephones, fax machines, and legacy PBX and key systems to an IP telephony
network, as well as providing PSTN access for various VoIP end points such as IP
phones, FXS devices, softphones, IP-based PBX and key systems.
"Mediatrix brings to 10 the number of companies that have submitted products for
testing in the Lab," says Mike Wells, the Lab's lead engineer. "We opened the Lab in
January of 2002 and have offered testing to any and all equipment developers with
fielded gateways interested in achieving industry-wide interoperability of T.38-capable
network equipment. And every time we test we learn something valuable, as do our
testing partners."
