Norcross, GA, July 17, 2000 -- William A.
Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida, was elected to the board
of directors of Commetrex Corporation at a shareholders' meeting
held at the company's headquarters on June 26. Robinson's
election adds a sixth seat to the board headed by the chairman
and company founder, Michael B. Coffee. Other board members
include Clifford J. Schornak II, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder
of Commetrex, Robert L. Harman, Commetrex investor and retired
executive with Merrill Lynch, Robert W. Cooke, Commetrex investor
and retired executive with E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company,
and Eric R. Giler, founder and CEO of Brooktrout Technology, Inc.
Brooktrout Technology is an investor in Commetrex.
A native Floridian, Robinson graduated from the
University of Florida in 1966 with a Batchelor's Degree in
Advertising and in 1967 with a Master's Degree in Journalism.
After 10 years in journalism and advertising, he founded Robinson
Marketing, Inc., an advertising and marketing consulting business.
Eight years later, he sold the company to an associate, and co-founded
Robinson and St. John Advertising and Public Relations, Inc. Over
the next 9 years, this agency grew to become one of the larges (in
Florida) and most profitable (in the US).
Robinson was named "Small Business
Leader of the Year" in 1991 by the Jacksonville Chamber
of Commerce and "Outstanding Businessman of the Year"
in 1992 by the Jacksonville Jaycees. In 1994, Robinson retired
from agency work to become an investor and advisor to numerous
start-up companies.
