Terminating Real-Time IP Fax Now Available
Looking for real-time fax solution offering the functionality of both T.30 and T.38 in one product?  We've got it!  TerminatingT38 (tm), winner of CTEXPO's 2001 Best of Show Award, offers a combination of Commetrex' T.38 and T.30 ITU fax protocol engines, giving the developer of a network-service platform or an enterprise fax server the technology necessary to terminate T.38 (IP network) real-time transmissons the same as it would real-time faxes from the PSTN using analog modems.  A dual- network server can be easily implemented by adding Commetrex' analog fax modems.  And, when combined with Commetrex' stand-alone T.38, the developer can implement both terminating and standard fax-gateway functions on the same platform, combining the functions of the service platform and the gateway.  A white paper which describes how this is done, "Dual-Network Media Servers", is available at http://www.commetrex.com/

Making Integration Easier with OpenH323
Commetrex' TerminatingT38(tm), which has been shipping since last June, and PowerRelay(tm), which has been shipping for two years, have not included any call-control function.  The products have included an easy-to-use interface for the licensee to integrate, for example, H.323, SIP, or a proprietary signaling system.  Now, Commetrex has integrated OpenH323 (http://www.openH323.org) with TerminatingT38 and PowerRelay for those licensees that do not have a call-control facility and need H.323.  We have tested the integration with the Lucent MAX TNT Multiprotocol Access Switch.

Running on Linux
Commetrex' TerminatingT38 allows a next-generation media server to send and receive faxes in real time over an IP network to T.38- conforming gateways.  It is interoperable with the Cisco AS5300 Gateway.  So far this year, shipments have been NT-specific, but now Commetrex is making the product available on either NT/2000 or Linux.   Our development was done with Redhat version 7.2, which uses release 2.4.7 of the Linus kernel.
